How upvotes work and how products are ordered.

How do upvotes work?Press the triangle on any product to upvote it. Press it again to take the vote back. You get one upvote per product, and you need to be signed in. An upvote is a recommendation: it says "I think this is worth someone's time". Your upvotes are listed on your profile, so the people who follow you can see what you rate.
How are products ordered?By upvotes, unless you choose otherwise. On Launches, category pages, tag pages and the directory, the product with the most upvotes comes first. Every list can also be sorted by newest or by rating, and narrowed by category, pricing and country. Nothing else affects the order. There is no paid placement and no editorial boost.
Can I ask people to upvote my product?Telling your users and your audience that you are on Upfynd is fine. That is how launches work. What is not fine is buying votes, trading them, or organising accounts to vote together. Votes and reviews that look coordinated or paid for are removed, and the counts are corrected. The full rules are in the terms of service.
Where can I see what I have upvoted? On your profile, under the Upvoted tab. Open it from the menu under your avatar, top right. That tab is public: anyone who visits your profile can see what you upvoted. If you want to keep track of a product privately, save it instead.
Why did an upvote count go down? Two things lower a count. Someone took their upvote back, which anyone can do at any time. Or we removed votes that looked coordinated or paid for. If a number on a list looks slightly behind the one on the product page, give it a minute: lists are refreshed about once a minute, and the product page is always current.
