We are hiring a Frontend Developer to own how Upfynd looks and feels in the browser. People come to Upfynd to scan lists of new software, compare products and leave a vote or review in seconds. Your job is to make that feel effortless on every screen size.
Why this role matters
A directory lives or dies on how easily people can scan it. Fast pages, clear product cards and a search that responds instantly keep visitors exploring, and they also help Upfynd's thousands of pages rank well in search.
What your week looks like
- Build reusable React components for product cards, rankings, filters, reviews and launch lists.
- Turn Figma designs into responsive, accessible screens with Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
- Improve Core Web Vitals across product, category and tag pages.
- Build the instant search and command menu experience people use to jump between products.
- Handle loading, empty and error states so the interface never feels broken.
- Keep the component library tidy, documented and easy for others to reuse.
You will do well here if you have
- 2-4 years building production interfaces with React.
- Solid TypeScript, HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts.
- Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering.
- Working knowledge of web performance and accessibility basics.
- A sharp eye for spacing, typography and small interaction details.
Nice to have
- Experience with Tailwind CSS.
- Familiarity with React Query, SWR or similar data-fetching tools.
- Some experience with frontend testing using Playwright or Testing Library.
Your first 30, 90 and 180 days
- 30 days: You know the design system, have shipped your first UI fixes and understand how pages are rendered.
- 90 days: You are shipping features every week and have made a measurable improvement to page speed on a key template.
- 180 days: You own the frontend of a core area such as search or product pages and help guide how the component library grows.
Where and how you will work
This is a full-time, onsite role at our office on the 11th floor of O-Hub, Infocity, Bhubaneswar. You will sit with the people you build with, which keeps decisions quick and conversations easy. Your everyday tools will include GitHub, Figma, Next.js, React and Tailwind CSS.
About Upfynd
Upfynd is a directory of new software, ranked by the people who actually use it. Every person gets one upvote per product, reviews come from real users, a person on our team checks every listing before it goes live, and nobody can pay to move up. Makers list and claim their products for free, and anything sponsored is clearly labelled and never touches rankings.
How to apply
Send us your CV along with links to interfaces you have built, live or on GitHub. Just like every listing on Upfynd, every application is read by a real person, and we reply to everyone who applies.
