Wikidata is a structured database that anyone can edit. Instead of articles, it stores facts as items with properties, such as a person, their birth date and their occupation, which many Wikipedia pages and apps then reuse. Run by the Wikimedia Foundation, it links information across languages and is queried by developers, librarians and researchers through its API and SPARQL service. All of its data is open for reuse.
