Portalble comes from Brown University's computer science department and explores augmented reality on ordinary phones. Users pick up and move virtual objects in the camera view with just a phone, with no headset or special hardware. The code is open source, so researchers and developers can study and extend it. It points toward interactions that anyone could try, in any location, rather than dedicated AR kit.
