Node-RED is a flow-based, low-code tool for connecting devices, APIs and online services. Developers drag nodes onto a canvas in the browser and link them to define how events move and change. IBM created it in 2013, and it now lives under the OpenJS Foundation with a large open source community. It is popular in IoT and home automation, runs on a Raspberry Pi as well as in the cloud, and a rich library of community nodes extends it.
