NetBird is an open-source zero-trust networking platform that connects devices into a private WireGuard mesh without opening ports or rewriting firewall rules. It is aimed at self-hosted infrastructure and remote teams that want something simpler than a traditional VPN. The platform provides peer-to-peer connectivity with NAT traversal, access control policies and DNS management. A web dashboard manages the team, and single sign-on with multi-factor authentication controls who can join. Access is handled as policy, so each device can reach only the connections it has been allowed to make.
