Nagios Core is a long-standing IT monitoring system. It checks hosts, services and network devices on a schedule, and sends alerts to administrators when something fails or crosses a threshold. A large plug-in ecosystem covers common protocols and applications, so sysadmins can extend checks without much code. More than a million users rely on it to spot outages early.
