Mapillary is a service where people upload street-level photos taken with phones and cameras, and the images are combined into a view of streets around the world. Computer vision reads the pictures to detect signs, lane markings and other objects. Mapmakers, cities and transport planners use the data to update maps, and the OpenStreetMap community uses it to trace features. Contributors capture their own routes, and anyone can browse the images. It is a Meta-owned service and is free to use.
