The National Weather Service is the United States government agency that issues weather forecasts and warnings, operating under NOAA. Its website, weather.gov, gives forecasts for any US location, along with radar, hourly graphs and alerts for storms, floods and heat. Local forecast offices publish discussions, and the site covers marine, aviation and fire weather. It also provides a free public API that developers use to build apps. The information is free to use, and forecasts are the same data many commercial weather apps rely on.
