About CoreOS
CoreOS builds open-source components for running containerized applications. The group is now part of the Red Hat family and describes its work as supporting secure, scalable infrastructure. Its best-known projects are Container Linux, an operating system that updates itself automatically, and etcd, the distributed data store used by Kubernetes. It started as a Linux distribution aimed at containers.
