Better Auth is an open-source authentication library for TypeScript projects. It lives inside your backend and stores users in your own database, which avoids sending identity data to an outside service. Developers can start with email and password or social login, then add features such as two-factor authentication, organisations and plugins as an app grows. An optional infrastructure layer is available for teams wanting a hosted dashboard. It works with common frameworks and is free.
