Mattermost is open source team collaboration software for organizations that need to keep their messages on infrastructure they run. It is a self-hosted alternative to Slack, and it also comes as a cloud offering for teams that prefer not to host. Teams get channels, private channels, file sharing, customizable notifications, integrations, audio and screen sharing, workflow automation and project management. It is built for technical and operational teams in regulated sectors such as the public sector, national defense and financial services. Zero-trust collaboration and AI can run in private cloud, self-hosted or air-gapped environments. The project has more than 4,000 open source contributors and has been translated into 20 languages.
