About VLC Media Player
VLC plays whatever is thrown at it, which is why it is the default media player for many people. The free, open source player runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS and needs no extra codec packs. It handles video and audio files, DVDs, audio CDs, VCDs and a variety of streaming protocols, and it can also convert media formats. The project is developed by VideoLAN, a nonprofit community, and the same team maintains libraries such as x264. There are no ads or subscriptions.
