About TinyPNG
TinyPNG cuts image file sizes so web pages load faster and use less bandwidth. Drop files into the browser and it applies smart lossy compression, reducing the number of colors in a PNG so fewer bytes are stored, usually saving between half and four fifths of the size. Transparency in PNG files is preserved, and JPEG and GIF images are handled too. Developers and designers also reach it through plugins and an API to compress images automatically as part of a site build or upload workflow.
