TigerVNC is an open-source implementation of VNC, based on the fourth generation of the original code. It provides both a server and a viewer, and runs on Linux, Windows and macOS. The project is known for good performance and for including an X server that creates virtual desktops on Linux machines. Administrators use it to reach remote systems and run graphical sessions on headless servers, and many Linux distributions ship it as their default VNC package.
