About TeXworks
TeXworks is an open source editor for TeX and LaTeX, made to give new users an easy working environment. It follows the clean design of the TeXShop editor on Mac, with an editing pane and a PDF preview side by side. Typesetting happens at a click, and clicking in the PDF jumps back to the source text. It comes bundled with distributions such as TeX Live and MiKTeX. Students and researchers who write theses and papers use it when they want a lightweight editor. The TeX Users Group lists it among its tools, and it is free.
