tex2mail is a small utility on CTAN, the TeX Archive Network. It converts TeX or LaTeX documents into plain-text output that mimics the layout of formulas, so math can be sent in an email. The result is ASCII art of equations in the text of a message. It is useful for people who must share mathematics where formatting is unavailable. The tool is free software, and CTAN hosts the package along with thousands of others.
