1 / 3Supabase is a backend for developers who want Postgres without assembling every service themselves. Each project is its own isolated Postgres database, with instant setup, built-in auth, row level security and real-time data streams. APIs are generated automatically from the schema, and the stack adds S3-compatible file storage, edge functions and a web dashboard with a SQL editor. A vector extension supports AI apps that store embeddings. It is open source and can be self-hosted or run as a managed service with a free tier. Many developers pitch it as an open-source alternative to Firebase.
