Serial Port Monitor is software that watches what travels through a computer's serial ports. Engineers use it to test devices, capture traffic and find faults in RS232, RS422 and RS485 links without extra hardware. It displays data in table, dump, line and terminal views, can log sessions to a file and lets users filter and search. Several ports can be monitored at once, and it can also simulate and send data for debugging. It comes from Electronic Team, Inc., which also makes virtual serial port tools. It is aimed at embedded developers and hardware testers.
