About Plurk
Plurk is a social journal for sharing short updates. Posts, called plurks, appear on a horizontal timeline, and friends reply in threads attached to each one. It was built around chatty, casual conversation and includes karma, emoticons and a community of followers. It is popular in Taiwan and other parts of Asia, and free to join. The timeline layout makes it easy to scan a day of conversation at a glance. Features such as karma levels, custom emoticons and themed profiles give the service a playful character that has kept a loyal following among its regular users.
