About pixiv
Pixiv is an online community for artists and fans of illustration, manga and novels. Creators upload their work, build a following and take part in user-run contests that are held often. Readers browse by tag, follow favourite artists and bookmark pieces, and artists can take commissions. It started in Japan and carries a large library across many styles, from fan art to original characters, so it works equally well as a portfolio site for working illustrators and a place for fans to browse.
