1 / 7Payload is an open-source, TypeScript-first headless CMS and application framework for developers. It builds the backend and admin panel for websites, native apps, ecommerce and SaaS products that need to manage content. Collections are defined as code in TypeScript, which gives full type safety from the config. Payload generates REST, GraphQL and Node APIs and a React admin panel for editors, with access control, localization, versioning, live preview and a block-based editor. It runs on Next.js with PostgreSQL or MongoDB, can be self-hosted with no vendor lock-in, and has more than 32,000 GitHub stars.
