Neon is a serverless Postgres platform that separates storage and compute. It offers branching, autoscaling, read replicas, instant restore and scale-to-zero workloads. It works with standard PostgreSQL clients and ORMs and supports extensions such as pgvector. Neon sits inside a wider backend platform with Auth, Data API, Functions, Object Storage and an AI Gateway. A generous free tier is available, and the company says teams can copy data and schema in a second while resources scale automatically.
