About MarineTraffic
MarineTraffic is a live map of ships around the world. It shows each vessel's position, course and speed using data from AIS transponders picked up by a network of receivers and by satellite. Users search for a ship or a port, view arrivals and departures, and check vessel details such as type and flag. Shipping companies, brokers, port authorities and enthusiasts use it for planning and monitoring. A free version shows basic data, while paid plans add historical tracks and alerts.
