About LocalWiki
LocalWiki helps communities gather knowledge about their own area. Contributors write and edit pages about local places, history, events and people, creating a shared reference that general-purpose encyclopedias rarely cover. The project grew out of a nonprofit effort to build open local wikis, and it is aimed at neighbourhood groups, civic organisations and anyone documenting a region. Content is open for others to read and reuse.
