Kubernetes, often written K8s, is an open-source container orchestration system that originated at Google and is now maintained by the CNCF. It automates deployment, scaling, self-healing and networking of containers across a cluster, and runs anywhere from a laptop to managed services on every major cloud. Declarative configuration describes the desired state. It is the default choice for platform and DevOps teams running microservices at scale.
