About ipify.org
ipify.org is about as small as an API gets. A request returns the caller's public IP address, and nothing else, which makes it handy for scripts, servers behind NAT and apps that need to display or register their own address. It can be integrated into any application in seconds, answers in plain text, JSON or JSONP, and the source is open. The service is free to use, with no API key or signup needed for ordinary lookups.
