About Healthchecks.io
Healthchecks.io watches scheduled jobs such as backups and cron tasks by waiting for them to check in. Your job sends a short HTTP ping when it finishes, and the service raises an alert if a ping does not arrive on time. Alerts go out through email, Slack, SMS and other channels, and you set the expected period and grace time for each check. The project is open source and has a free hosted tier. Sysadmins and developers use it to catch silent failures in background workers.
