Go, also called Golang, is an open-source programming language created at Google starting in 2007. It compiles to single binaries, has built-in concurrency through goroutines and channels, and keeps its syntax deliberately small. Teams use it for cloud services, command-line tools, network software and infrastructure such as Docker and Kubernetes, with a standard library, formatting tool and test runner included. The go.dev site hosts downloads, documentation, a tour and a package index.
