DyScan, from Dyneti, reads payment card details through a smartphone camera. Instead of typing sixteen digits, customers point the phone at the card and the number and expiry date fill in automatically. The technology also checks that a physical card is in front of the camera, which helps limit fraud from stolen numbers. Mobile apps and checkouts embed it through an SDK. It is aimed at banks, wallets and merchants who want faster, safer payment entry.
