About Chia
Chia is a cryptocurrency and blockchain that uses proof of space and time, where farmers commit storage rather than energy-hungry mining rigs. Users run a full node and wallet app, with a graphical interface and command-line tools written in Python, and farm XCH coins with spare hard drives. Chia was founded by BitTorrent creator Bram Cohen and positions itself as a greener alternative to Bitcoin, along with a language called Chialisp for smart coins. The software is open source.
