Cactus Compute builds foundation models small enough to run on the device itself. Its models take up only a few megabytes and are meant for automation tasks, such as turning a request into a function call, on phones, wearables, smart home gear and small robots. Running locally avoids a network round trip and keeps data on the device. Mobile and embedded developers use its engine to add AI features without cloud inference costs. The company ships open models such as Needle and says the smallest rival much larger ones on such tasks.
